Computer Tip 03 – VLC Player
You may have noticed in lectures that the VLC Player is used for videos.
This media player is great – I’ve used it for years. CLICK HERE FOR VLC WEBSITE
It will play all types of audio and video files – even those from phones.
N.B. When installing don’t let it be the default player otherwise you will lose Windows thumbnails especially those for videos. Instead, after you have installed it, right-click on files and folders and choose ‘Open With VLC’.
Spanish Textbook
Anyone looking for the Spanish textbook Vía Rápida?
Only place seems the UCC Student Bookshop for €37.70 – mucho dinero..!
I tried Vibes n’ Scribes, Easons, Waterstones, and that second-hand bookshop on George’s Quay.
None of them have it.
PowerPoint One-Day Course
Cork Chamber of Commerce has a limited number of available places remaining on a one-day course:
‘PowerPoint – Beyond The Basics’, on Thursday 24th September.
Usually €150 but free to anyone on Jobseeker’s Allowance.

Computer Tip 02 – PDFs
PDF – Portable Document Format
A common type of file format especially on the internet.
These files will open on any computer in Adobe Reader.
Can’t be edited however unless converted in MS Word or Adobe Creator.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can be saved in PDF format.
Tiny URL

Type that into the address bar to get this site.
